Backend Engineer
Architect, build, and maintain high-performance APIs, database infrastructure, and scalable backend services for client systems and production SaaS applications.
About the role
Codeveil Studio is a full-stack software agency and digital product studio specializing in product engineering, custom SaaS solutions, AI integration, and high-performance web applications.
We are looking for a skilled Backend Engineer to lead and support server-side architecture across our core products and enterprise client systems. In this role, you will design robust RESTful and GraphQL APIs, manage database schemas, configure cloud deployments, and ensure optimal system performance and security.
What you will do
- Architect, develop, and maintain production-ready RESTful APIs, webhooks, and backend microservices.
- Design, query, and optimize relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL database schemas for performance and scalability.
- Implement secure authentication workflows (OAuth, JWT, session management) and user permission structures.
- Deploy and manage backend services using modern hosting platforms (Vercel, Render, AWS) and containerization tools.
- Collaborate closely with frontend engineers and UI/UX designers to integrate client-side components seamlessly.
- Write scalable, clean, and well-tested code following modern software engineering best practices.
What we are looking for
- 1–3 years of professional or hands-on experience building backend systems in Node.js, Express, Python (FastAPI/Flask), or Next.js backend architecture.
- Strong expertise in PostgreSQL, Supabase, or MongoDB, including complex SQL queries, migrations, and schema design.
- Solid grasp of REST API principles, serverless functions, HTTP protocols, and cloud computing fundamentals.
- Proven experience with Git version control, SSH environments, and modern deployment pipelines (CI/CD).
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills, clean architectural design habits, and ownership mindset.
Nice to have
- Experience with Redis caching, WebSockets, or background task queues (Celery/BullMQ).
- Familiarity with Docker, Linux environment management, and AWS services.
- Understanding of LLM integrations, AI agents, or vector databases.
